The “Hana” resembles the elegant pink and white flower petals painted inside the bowl. The design comes with a clever and pleasant surprise when you finish your Matcha – As the remaining Matcha will formulate a round green circle at the bottom of the bowl, completing the center of the flower. 

The Katakuchi Chawan

 

The Katakuchi Chawan is a Matcha bowl lipped on one side. It is used to mix the Matcha like a normal Matcha Chawan, but then to pour and share to smaller cups. It’s a great tool to use if you would like to enjoy the cup of Matcha with two or more people.

 

Handcrafted Nara-Glass

 

This piece is handcrafted by a Nara-glass artist (Glass art in the Nara Prefecture of Japan). As this is handcrafted, each piece will be slightly different. Please enjoy these differences as a part of the unique characteristics of each bowl.

 

Not Heat Resistant

Please handle with care as these are not heat resistant glasses. Making Matcha by pouring hot water is not a problem. However, do add hot water after you cool the bowl.
