    Best houjicha in the Koudoen set!

    I bought the 3-pack set with the Blue, White and Premium houjicha, and this is the best of the lot. Strong roast, comforting, great taste.

    Saw white and premium kaga-bou with reviews. Blue kaga-bou was the only one without a review, curious with the taste, tried it at 100 degree / 30 sec. Smell: Its not so "heavy" compared to another houjicha brand I bought from Tealife. Taste: As per what I mentioned, not as "heavy", thus the taste of roasted twig was not as obvious but significant enough. Yet, the smooth taste of the soup is heavenly enough to be one of my favourite. Kaga-bou hojicha is no joke, its really good. Hope this will still be available the next time I come back for more.

Selected only the “Blue twigs” of the first flush tea twigs. Strong fire for deep roasted tasting notes, smoky aroma resembling a winter stove in a snow cabin. A Kaga-Boucha* masterpiece. Extremely hard to find – only while stocks last!

The Blue Kaga-Bou Houjicha is a special Houjicha made from only the selected "blue twigs" of the first flush tea. These quality tea twigs are lavishly used to then deep roast to pull out the magnificent aroma of the tea.

 

Along with the "white", this is a tea which we tried to add into our shop last year yet wasn't able to as it quickly ran out of stock. This year we are fortunate to be able add them into our shop but in limited quantities. Please try while stocks last!

* The innovation and invention of twig-based Houjicha originates in the Kaga area (where it is Ishikawa today), hence is called the Kaga-boucha.

How to brew
1. Boil water.
2. Add leaves to teapot. (1 heaping tsp per 200ml serving)
3. Pour water to teapot - brew 30 sec.
4. Pour tea into teacup - pour until the last drop.
5. Let it cool a little before you drink. 
*Don't over-seep. It will reduce the aroma.

*We will enclose English instructions in the package.

 

How to store
- Store in refrigerator if unopened.
- Return to room temperature before opening.
- Store opened packages in a cool shaded place.
