- Tips: Pre-sift the powder with a tea sifter for a smooth Matcha
Storage Instructions
- Keep it away from heat, sunlight, and humidity as much as possible. Keep it sealed to prevent air and other smells from affecting the tea.
- Matcha powder is a food product that can change color quickly and is susceptible to high temperatures, high humidity, sunlight, and smell transfer. Heating may degrade its flavor and cause it to turn reddish in color. The color may also fade in the light when displayed in a showcase for a long time.
- Refrigeration or freezing is recommended. When using the product, bring it back to room temperature to prevent condensation from affecting the quality of the tea.
- Due to this condensation issue, setting aside a small amount for daily use in a small Matcha tea caddie (Natsume) with an airtight lid is recommended while you store the rest in a fridge or freezer.
- Matcha is an extremely fine-grained powder. It tends to lump due to static electricity and the natural unevenness of the particles. Sift it before use to remove lumps.
- The Yamamasa Koyamaen Matcha products contain oxygen absorbers to maintain quality. Please do not eat. The oxygen absorber is made of harmless packaging material that is not harmful even if it comes into direct contact with the Matcha.
